Paradise in our backyards
7th October, 2022
A weeklong showcasing of cultural dances, products, and traditional ways at the first ever Micronesia Expo for the Federated States of Micronesia, was a key national event promoting domestic travel in FSM. The event was also aimed at preparing the tourism industry and local communities for post-COVID-19, tourism reactivation beginning on August 1st.
The Expo capitalised on the nation’s cultural assets – arts, performances, handicrafts, and chants to promote interstate trading among the Sister States. Each day was dedicated to a particular State, whereby the State personalised the day and showcased its unique culture and heritage. The five-day event was held from July 18- 22 and will become a semi-annual event to be rotated in each of FSMs states.
